OPERATION HTH

It's not always so easy for many of us as we surround  ourselves with an invisible force field that warns others that we are not approachable. Sometimes that's a good thing, but other times we do want to seek out connection, but not always sure if others do too.

That's where Hello There Human comes in.  It's aim is to narrow down the hundreds of social media friends to just two humans—one human connecting to one human face-to-face through either a sincere acknowledgment in passing or a conversation over coffee. In turn, fostering an understanding and a deeper connection for one another.

HERE'S HOW IT WORKS...

STEP 1: If this mission resonates with you and you want to not only make more personal connections yourself and deepen your understanding of others, but you want to be part of a bigger social movement and make a difference, you must first seek out your visitor companion.

STEP 2: Once your Visitor Companion is chosen and with 25% of the proceeds going to a (mental health) charity, you purchase your “beacon” in the form of a T-shirt or Jacket with your Visitor Companion imprinted on the front.

Each shirt or jacket functions as a beacon to others that are also “in the know” and desire deeper connections. These beacons or social conduits inform others that you are approachable for either a sincere greeting or even conversation—diminishing that invisible force field we put up between each other.

STEP 3: When you are out and about and you walk pass someone with a beacon (or visitor companion), you greet them with these three simple words, “Hello There, Human”. Or if you are at a coffee shop* and you see someone sitting alone with a beacon, greet them with a “Hello There, Human” and if you both have time and respectfully agree…take that opportunity to enjoy coffee and a conversation together.

Like your visitor companion, we might seem quite scary to each other at first. Yes, we, humans, have obvious differences. We look different, sound different, our cultures, beliefs or even views may vary from one another. But through our daily greetings and conversations with others, we discover that behind it all that we, humans, are really a lot more alike than we are different.

*If you do a have a conversation with another, please do it in a safe place in public like a coffee shop. This movement is important, but your safety is more important. This is not a dating site and it is your choice whether you decide to proceed with a one-to-one interaction. We encourage positive, open and respectful conversation that results in a better understanding of each person (includes better understanding of different races, religions, political affiliations, genders, and socioeconomic status). If any party is uncomfortable at anytime, excuse yourself and leave.
