Now let's set the scene.
You've just entered your local coffee shop. Alone, you head towards your table. As you look up, there in front of you drinking coffee at a neighboring table is The Visitor. Your heart begins to race.
First thing, take a breath and approach slowly.
They are as afraid of you as you are of them. But, the one thing you both have in common is that you want to connect and communicate face-to-face. So that should help you feel more at ease.
As you get closer to The Visitor and after eye contact is made, you must complete this one very important step and that is...you smile.
From there, you will immediately engage in a mutual greeting with a "Hello There, Human".
Wha-la! Connection is officially ignited.
There you are sitting face-to-face with The Visitor, now what?
Well, below you will find two links that will help guide you through this conversational journey. The first link is the "Conversation Guide" which will give you in-depth directions on how to become a Motivational Listener with the goal of making others feel valued and acknowledging what they share thus quickly building rapport.
What do we talk about?
The second link is a collection of "Conversation Starters" which includes topic ideas, general "Get To Know You" questions along with some slightly more comical questions to bring about more interesting and meaningful conversation. Keep in mind, if you both are on board with the Hello There Human Mission of connecting more then those peculiar questions won't feel so awkward asking and maybe actually expected.
